Jimmy Eat World Releases ‘Something(s) Loud’ EP Featuring New Single ‘Failure’
Jimmy Eat World is set to release a new EP titled Something(s) Loud on November 14, featuring six tracks including previously digital-only singles and a new song called "Failure," recorded during their 2019 Surviving sessions. The EP includes original and acoustic versions of "Something Loud," "Place Your Debts" and its remix by TW Walsh, and a cover of Crooked Fingers’ "Call to Love" with Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast. "Failure" has a skateboarding-themed video directed by Keith Koenig and was co-produced by the band and Justin Meldal Johnsen, with engineering and mixing by Ken Andrews. Jim Adkins explained the EP was conceived as a way to reconnect with fans and offer new material amid the easing of pandemic restrictions, acknowledging a shift in listener preferences toward playlists over full albums. The band hinted at more plans for 2026 and continues to receive positive attention for their energized recent singles, including "Failure," which has been compared to Blue Album-era Weezer. This release marks a significant physical media debut for several tracks and reflects the band's ongoing evolution and engagement with their audience.
