Macron coordinates US, Ukraine, European peace talks in Paris

French President Emmanuel Macron hosted senior US, European, and Ukrainian officials in Paris for talks aimed at ending the war in Ukraine, emphasizing strong coordination between Europe and the United States to pursue peace. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy underscored the importance of unified diplomatic efforts and ongoing dialogue to achieve real security for Ukraine and Europe. The meetings were described as productive, launching what French officials called a 'positive process' to rekindle stalled ceasefire efforts. Although Ukraine accepted a recent US proposal for a ceasefire, Russia rejected it, with ongoing violations reported by both sides. European leaders expressed a desire to play a more active role in negotiations and urged the US to ensure Ukraine's inclusion in any future talks. Another meeting involving the same delegations is scheduled for next week in London.
