Wiltshire Man Jailed 21 Years for 10-Hour Torture, Sexual Assault

Tommy Hitt, 46, of Sutton Veny, Wiltshire, was sentenced to 21 years and six months in prison for subjecting a woman to a brutal 10-hour ordeal involving torture, sexual assault, and false imprisonment. On February 21, 2025, Hitt held the victim captive, deliberately damaged her phone, and inflicted severe physical harm including fracturing her eye socket, causing retinal detachment, and smashing her teeth. He also sexually assaulted her twice, strangled her, shaved her head forcibly, and threatened to kill her, forcing her to call her mother to say goodbye. The victim has suffered lasting physical and psychological damage and has courageously released photos of her injuries to encourage others to seek help. Detective Constable James Gatherum praised the victim's bravery and described the attack as involving an inexplicable level of violence, noting that Hitt represented an ongoing risk to the public. The case concluded with a restraining order and a surcharge, reflecting the severity of Hitt's crimes and their impact on the victim.
