The University of Utah Police Department is actively searching for a suspect involved in a sexual battery on a campus shuttle bus reported around 11 a.m. The suspect, described as a Black male with dreadlocks, aged 22-28, about 5'7" tall and 160 pounds, was last seen near East Village, the Union, and Fort Douglas areas carrying three shopping bags and wearing black pants, a bright blue jacket, and a grey t-shirt. The victim was subjected to unwanted touching multiple times during the ride, prompting a campus-wide alert issued around 1:30 p.m. The suspect disembarked near Fort Douglas Boulevard and Pollock Road and headed north. Police have urged anyone with information to contact them immediately and reminded the community of safety resources like the SafeRide program and Utah's Sexual Violence Crisis Hotline. The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to apprehend the individual responsible.
