Utah Sees Record Motorcycle Deaths, Spurs Safety Push

Utah recorded its deadliest month for motorcyclists in July 2025, with 14 fatalities bringing the annual total to 44 and putting the state on course to surpass last year's record of 53 deaths. About half of the crashes involved only the motorcyclist, with speed and inexperience frequently cited as contributing factors. Less than 10% of those killed had taken a motorcycle skills course, and only 36% had a valid motorcycle license endorsement. The Utah Department of Public Safety is urging riders and drivers to exercise caution and share the road.
