Man in Police Costume Arrested for Knife Threat
John Bekhet, 19, a Staten Island resident dressed in a police officer costume, allegedly pulled a real knife and made threats after being denied entry to a Halloween party early Friday on the 300 block of North Main Street in Glassboro, Gloucester County, New Jersey. Glassboro police say officers responded around 1:45–1:50 a.m., located Bekhet within minutes, recovered the knife, and arrested him after a brief foot chase. He faces multiple charges, including terroristic threats, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, resisting arrest, obstruction and disorderly conduct. Bekhet was booked into the Salem County Correctional Facility and spent Halloween in custody; attorney information was not immediately available. Authorities say these are accusations and Bekhet is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
