Yorgos Lanthimos' 'Bugonia' Sets October Release

Yorgos Lanthimos' film 'Bugonia,' starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons, will open in select theaters in New York and Los Angeles on October 24, 2025, before expanding nationwide on October 31. The movie is an English-language remake of the 2003 South Korean sci-fi comedy 'Save the Green Planet!' and follows two conspiracy-obsessed men who kidnap a corporate CEO they believe is an alien threatening Earth. The screenplay is written by Will Tracy. Focus Features is the main producer and distributor, marking a shift from Lanthimos' previous collaborations with Searchlight and A24. Producers include Stone, Lanthimos, and teams from Element Pictures, Square Peg, and CJ ENM. The film reunites Stone and Plemons, who both starred in Lanthimos' recent film 'Kinds of Kindness.'
