Redwood City Man Arrested For Suspected Arson Damaging Three Apartments
A 35-year-old man named Eliaser Hernandez-Valadez was arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire broke out at an apartment building in the 1300 block of Marshall Street in Redwood City. The fire, reported early Saturday morning, damaged three apartment units but resulted in no injuries, as all residents were safely evacuated. Investigators from both the police and fire departments determined the fire may have been intentionally set, leading to Hernandez-Valadez's arrest when he returned to the scene later that day. He was booked into the San Mateo County Maguire Correctional Facility on multiple charges, including arson to an inhabited dwelling, reckless burning, and a probation violation. Hernandez-Valadez is scheduled to appear in court on Monday. Authorities have requested anyone with information to contact the Redwood City Police Department.
