Mariners defeat White Sox 8-3 with Suarez homer, Woo pitching
The Seattle Mariners defeated the Chicago White Sox 8-3 at T-Mobile Park, highlighted by Eugenio Suárez hitting a two-run home run, his first since returning to Seattle, marking his 37th homer of the season. Bryan Woo delivered a strong pitching performance, striking out nine and throwing seven innings, setting a franchise record by pitching at least six innings in each of his first 22 starts this season. Other Mariners' contributors included Josh Naylor and Dominic Canzone, who also hit home runs, while Jorge Polanco added two hits and two RBIs. The Mariners showcased aggressive baserunning with four stolen bases in the sixth inning, a rare feat in franchise history. Despite homers from Chicago's Lenyn Sosa, Luis Robert Jr., and Colson Montgomery, the White Sox fell in their second consecutive loss. The Mariners’ victory halted Woo’s four-start winless streak and keeps them competitive in the AL West race.
