Ben Affleck and Matt Damon reunited at Netflix's Tudum 2025 event to present the first footage of their upcoming crime thriller The Rip, set to premiere on January 16, 2026. The film, directed by Joe Carnahan, follows Miami cops whose trust unravels after discovering millions in hidden cash, exploring themes of greed and loyalty within the team. The Rip is inspired by true events and classic 1970s cop films, featuring a notable cast including Teyana Taylor, Steven Yeun, Sasha Calle, and Kyle Chandler. Affleck and Damon, longtime collaborators and co-founders of the Artists Equity production company, co-produced the film, marking their tenth joint project since Good Will Hunting.
