Nebraska Teacher, Boyfriend Charged with Sex Trafficking Minor

Elizabeth Jamie Love, a high school teacher and speech therapist in Nebraska, and her boyfriend Jarid "Jack" Krause have been arrested and charged with sex trafficking a minor after a 16-year-old student reported that Love allegedly groomed her to have sex with Krause. According to police affidavits, Krause expressed a desire to have sex with Love, who then told the student she "would be willing to share" him, making the student uncomfortable. On one occasion, Love drove the student to Krause's home where Krause made what was interpreted as a sexual request; the student refused and was later given $100 by Love to keep quiet, which Love claimed was a gift for a new phone. Text messages revealed discussions between Love and Krause about the student's willingness as early as April. Both are currently in custody with bail set at $250,000, facing charges that could lead to life imprisonment and lifetime sex offender registration. The case has prompted investigations and Love has been placed on leave from her school district role.
