FIA Confirms Aston Martin Procedural Breach, Nine F1 Teams Comply With 2024 Cost Cap

Aston Martin was the only team found to have committed a minor procedural breach related to a delayed auditor's signature on their cost cap documentation, but the team did not exceed the cost cap itself. The breach was deemed very minor and caused by circumstances beyond Aston Martin's control, leading to an Accepted Breach Agreement with the FIA without any sanction. Speculation about other teams, including McLaren and Mercedes, breaching the cost cap proved unfounded. The review process took seven months due to the complexity of the financial and technical assessments involved. Previously, only Red Bull had been found guilty of a minor overspend in the 2021 season, which resulted in fines and penalties but no competitive advantage was acknowledged.
