British Man Dies After Istanbul Hair Transplant Prep

Martyn Latchman, a 38-year-old British man, died in Istanbul after falling ill at the Dr Cinik clinic while preparing for a second hair transplant, with the clinic claiming he became unwell before surgery began. Despite immediate medical care, Latchman died later that day in hospital. Turkish authorities have launched a 'reckless homicide' investigation, interviewing clinic staff including the surgeon and anaesthesiologist. Latchman had previously undergone a successful transplant at the same clinic. His death has highlighted the risks associated with Turkey's booming medical tourism sector, which attracts hundreds of thousands of Britons annually for low-cost cosmetic procedures.
