The incident occurred in February at Joe & The Juice in Kensington, where Zacariah Boulares, a prolific thief with a history of violent crimes including threatening to behead singer Aled Jones during a robbery, snatched her phone. Despite Boulares' attempt to escape, Chenneour confronted him, retrieved her phone, and struck him with it, aided by a fellow customer who intervened. Boulares, who had been released early from youth detention after serving 14 months of a 24-month sentence, pleaded guilty to theft and assault charges related to this and other offenses.
