VivoPower's Tembo Expands Electric Vehicle Assembly Across East Africa

VivoPower International PLC, through its subsidiary Tembo, has entered a strategic partnership with Associated Vehicle Assemblers (AVA) to distribute, assemble, and service Tembo's electric utility vehicles across Kenya, Tanzania, and wider East Africa. This collaboration aims to establish a local assembly and service network, including the creation of a regional office and a mobile technical support network to enhance operational efficiency and customer support. AVA, the region's largest vehicle assembler and the only one certified with IATF16949, brings extensive experience with major OEMs, providing a strong foundation for Tembo's expansion. The partnership focuses on sustainable regional growth by upskilling local technicians and engineers, fostering job creation, knowledge transfer, and supply chain development. This initiative represents a significant step in Tembo's global electrification rollout and supports East Africa's progress toward sustainable mobility and green industrialization.
