Charles Begins Removing Prince Andrew's Titles

King Charles III has begun a formal process to remove Prince Andrew's style, titles and honours; the palace said he will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Buckingham Palace has served him notice to surrender the Royal Lodge lease and to move to alternative private accommodation. Andrew has denied Virginia Giuffre's allegations but reached an out-of-court settlement with her in 2022. Giuffre died by suicide in April 2025 and her posthumous memoir, published in October 2025, renewed focus on her claims that she was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein and sexually assaulted by Andrew. Sky and Amanda Roberts welcomed the King's action as a precedent for believing survivors and urged further pressure on U.S. authorities, including President Trump, to release Epstein-related files to aid investigations. The palace said Their Majesties’ thoughts remain with victims and survivors, while Giuffre’s former lawyer and advocates said her account changed history.
