Texas Universities Welcome Historic Freshman Enrollment in Fall 2025

Several universities in the U.S. are experiencing historic enrollment growth for the Fall 2025 semester. Bowling Green State University announced a record-breaking freshman class of over 4,000 students, along with a 17% rise in transfer students, attributing growth to a strong focus on student experience and community support. Texas Christian University (TCU) welcomed its largest-ever incoming class with over 13,000 students, including 2,700 freshmen, as part of a strategic plan for gradual enrollment expansion and enhanced student services, aiming to maintain a close-knit community feel. TCU's student body is notably diverse, drawing students from all 50 states and 90 countries, with Chancellor Daniel Pullin emphasizing the university's role in Fort Worth's long-term economic growth. The University of Texas Arlington also reported high freshman numbers, expecting its best first-year retention rate. Meanwhile, Taft College began its semester early with orientation for over 75 student-athletes, focusing on campus services and NIL activities to support their academic and athletic journeys.
