Cody Franke, Nick Mangold Die This Weekend

Former New York Jets center Nick Mangold died this past weekend after kidney-related complications and was mourned for his decade-long NFL career and community work. Barstool Sports personality Cody “Beef” Franke, 31, also died over the weekend from a “sudden medical issue” while attending a wedding in the Dominican Republic, an announcement made by Barstool’s Fore Play podcast. Barstool founder Dave Portnoy, Fore Play host Dan “Big Cat” Katz and other colleagues paid tribute to Franke, calling him kind and noting his impact on golfers and fans. Franke was a former PGA of America professional and head pro at Thornberry Creek who joined Barstool in 2025 and became known for swing-tip videos and Fore Play contributions. Neither Barstool nor reports have disclosed further medical details or funeral arrangements, and tributes have poured in from the golf community, including the PGA Tour and other influencers.
