Indy Juneteenth Parade Canceled, Festival Expanded

The 2025 Indy Juneteenth parade has been canceled due to scheduling conflicts and challenges securing a downtown Indianapolis route, despite extended negotiations between organizers and city officials. Organizers ultimately could not finalize a parade route, prompting the decision to pause the parade for this year. The Juneteenth celebration will continue with a multi-day festival at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, culminating on June 21 and featuring live performances, wellness activities, family attractions, a boxing showcase, fireworks, and a college and career conference. Indy Juneteenth has secured a partnership with the Indiana State Fairgrounds for future festivals and parades. Organizers plan to resume the parade in 2026 and emphasize that this year’s changes aim to grow and sustain the celebration.
