Fortnite Simpsons Crossover Launches with Downtime

Epic Games took Fortnite offline on Nov. 1 for roughly five hours, beginning around 11:30 AM ET after the “Welcome, Our Alien Overlords” live event, to deploy update v38.00 and launch the Simpsons-themed Springfield Island across major platforms. The cel‑shaded, 80‑player Springfield Island includes landmark locations such as the Kwik‑E‑Mart, Moe’s Tavern, Krusty Burger and the Nuclear Power Plant. The Springfield Battle Pass offers skins for Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Ned Flanders (plus alternate variants), and the update introduces a new Sidekick system with Peels as the first companion; additional sidekicks and item‑shop content will roll out later. Epic and Gracie Films are releasing four short Simpsons episodes co-produced for Fortnite and Disney+ across November to preview weekly gameplay updates. The opening live event featured Kang and Kodos merging Springfield with Looper Island, but some players experienced queue and connection problems and Epic briefly extended the event and warned maintenance end times could slip. Players can download v38.00 once servers return, explore Springfield, unlock Battle Pass rewards and expect further skins and item‑shop drops in the days ahead.
