Democrat Thanedar Files Impeachment Articles Against Trump

Rep. Shri Thanedar, a Democrat from Michigan, has introduced seven articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, citing a range of alleged misconduct including obstruction of justice, abuse of executive power, usurpation of appropriations power, abuse of trade powers, violation of First Amendment rights, creation of an unlawful office, bribery, and corruption. Thanedar argues that Trump is 'unfit' to serve and presents a 'clear and present danger' to the nation's constitution and democracy, referencing actions such as attacks on due process, misuse of the Department of Justice, and retaliation against critics and the media. The impeachment resolution also highlights controversial policies such as unlawful deportations and the alleged establishment of the Department of Government Efficiency with Elon Musk, purportedly bypassing constitutional limits. Despite the broad accusations, the effort is widely expected to fail due to the GOP's current control of both the House and Senate. This marks the third attempt by House members to file impeachment articles against Trump, who was impeached twice previously but acquitted by the Senate both times. Thanedar, an Indian-born former entrepreneur who became a U.S. citizen in 1988, emphasized the urgency of congressional action to prevent further harm.
