Two Men Convicted in Separate Fatal Shootings
Brandon Ramos, also known as 'Don L66t,' was found guilty of first-degree manslaughter with a firearm for fatally shooting Jyineez Cruz outside a birthday party in Meriden, Connecticut, in August 2021. Ramos did not have a permit for the weapon and was extradited from Florida after fleeing following the shooting. His sentencing is scheduled for September 22, 2024. In a separate case, Shauntee Pierre Slade was convicted by a jury for the second-degree murder of Jamaal Castle Moore in Newport News, Virginia, on July 4, 2023, and faces sentencing on December 5, 2024. Both convictions resulted from thorough police investigations and court proceedings. These cases highlight ongoing legal consequences for gun violence.
