Indiana Fever sign veteran guard Odyssey Sims to hardship contract
The Indiana Fever have signed veteran guard Odyssey Sims to a hardship contract following season-ending injuries to key guards Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald. Sims, a 12-year WNBA veteran and 2019 All-Star, brings much-needed experience and traditional point guard skills to the team, which has also been without Caitlin Clark due to injury. Prior to joining the Fever, Sims played 12 games with the Los Angeles Sparks this season, averaging 9.8 points and 3.5 assists. Sims was the second overall pick in the 2014 WNBA Draft and has played for multiple teams throughout her career, averaging 11.2 points and 3.8 assists per game. The Fever, who struggled to field a full roster in recent games due to injuries, view Sims as a vital addition to bolster their backcourt depth. She will wear jersey number one and is expected to contribute immediately as the Fever continue their season.
