Connecticut Man Charged in Murder-for-Hire, Drug Case
Tremaine 'Brody' Knight, a 43-year-old from Hartford, Connecticut, has been charged with murder-for-hire and drug distribution, following an indictment by a federal grand jury in Vermont. Knight allegedly offered $10,000 to a confidential informant to kill a man who had wronged him, paying a $1,000 deposit by canceling a drug debt. Over several meetings in Massachusetts and Vermont between February and March, Knight sold significant quantities of cocaine, cocaine base, and fentanyl to the informant. Knight faces up to 10 years in prison for the murder-for-hire charge and up to 40 years for drug distribution. He was apprehended after the final controlled drug purchase in Vermont and is set to be arraigned on April 3, 2025, in Burlington. The operation involved collaboration between the Vermont State Police, the FBI, and other law enforcement agencies.
