Liverpool Defender Isaac Mabaya Loaned to Wigan Athletic for 2025–26 Season

Liverpool has confirmed the loan of 20-year-old defender Isaac Mabaya to Wigan Athletic for the 2025–2026 season as he seeks regular first-team experience. Mabaya, who joined Liverpool's academy at age six and transitioned from midfield to full-back, has made his senior debut under managers Jürgen Klopp and Arne Slot, including appearances in the FA Cup and Champions League. Wigan coach Ryan Lowe, who has long admired Mabaya’s potential, described the loan as beneficial for both the player and club, highlighting Mabaya's physical attributes and versatility as a right wing-back.
