Two Dead Fort Wayne, Two Injured Portland Shootings Amid Crowds

Two individuals, a man and a woman, were seriously injured in a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in Portland's Old Town neighborhood during a large gathering of about 100 people. Police officers, who were monitoring the crowd at Northwest 4th Avenue and Northwest Couch Street, heard gunshots and quickly responded, finding the victims and providing trauma first aid amid a chaotic scene where about 50 people tried to push past officers. The man was transported to the hospital in critical condition, while the woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Following the shooting, a group of 20-30 people attempted to access the emergency room at Legacy Emanuel Hospital, leading to a Code Silver lockdown and police intervention. Authorities have not made any arrests and are seeking witnesses with photos or videos to assist with the ongoing investigation. The Portland Police Bureau's Enhanced Community Safety Team is leading the investigation, and the public is urged to provide any information they may have.
