Box Truck Crashes Injure Drivers in New Hampshire, Pennsylvania

Early Saturday morning in New Hampton, New Hampshire, a 21-year-old Massachusetts man named Anilton Resende Barros was injured when his box truck went off Interstate 93 just before Exit 23. The truck failed to negotiate a curve, crossed into the median, went over the crossover between northbound and southbound lanes, and came to rest in trees, causing the closure of left lanes on both sides of the highway for about four hours. Barros suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for evaluation. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with authorities asking anyone with information to contact Trooper John Zavala. Separately, on September 12, a serious box truck crash occurred on Route 222 in Spring Township, where the driver rear-ended a tractor-trailer and had to be extricated by fire personnel; the driver's condition has not been disclosed. That incident is also under investigation with requests for witnesses to come forward.
