A recent study by HouseFresh, which analyzed 12.3 million sanitation-related 311 complaints across major U.S. cities, has named Baltimore the dirtiest city in America, with 47,295 complaints per 100,000 residents. The study found that Baltimore is home to seven of the ten dirtiest ZIP codes nationwide, the worst being 21213 with nearly 90,000 complaints per 100,000 people. Sacramento and Charlotte trailed behind Baltimore in the rankings, while Milwaukee was named the cleanest city with only 309 complaints per 100,000 residents. Despite the high volume of complaints and continued issues with illegal dumping, a majority of Baltimore residents reported being satisfied with trash collection in a recent poll. The findings highlight significant disparities in urban cleanliness and suggest an ongoing disconnect between community needs and city sanitation efforts.
