Gemeny Hernandez Arrested on Robbery, Battery Charges

Gemeny Hernandez was arrested Oct. 28 in Miami and charged with two counts of felony strong-arm robbery and one count of misdemeanor battery after an alleged altercation over a cellphone, according to a Miami‑Dade arrest affidavit and court records. The affidavit says the victim — identified in multiple reports as Hernandez’s domestic partner of roughly eight years — told police Hernandez struck her with the phone and the two wrestled on the floor; the victim sustained minor injuries including a bruise to her eye and scratches on her neck. Hernandez denied taking the phone but admitted involvement in the physical altercation. Emily Estefan appeared at Hernandez’s court hearing and said she did not want Hernandez jailed or a restraining order, and records show Hernandez posted a $3,000 bond. Representatives for the Estefan family and Hernandez have not commented; the couple cohost the podcast In Our Own World, went public with their relationship in 2017 after dating since 2016, and the podcast has not released an episode since April.
