Mother Sues Port of Bremerton Over Otter Attack on Toddler

Travyn Schiffner is suing the Port of Bremerton for gross negligence after a river otter attacked and dragged her 2-year-old daughter into the water at Bremerton Marina in September 2024. The lawsuit alleges that the port had prior knowledge of aggressive otter activity, including complaints from tenants about otters defecating on docks, damaging property, and posing safety risks, but failed to take effective action.
