Regina Man Arrested on Child Porn Charges After Middle East Tip

An international tip from a man in the Middle East led to the arrest of a 51-year-old Regina man, Garry S. Stevenson, on child exploitation charges after police discovered he was live streaming indecent acts involving a prepubescent girl. The Saskatoon Police Service initially investigated two Saskatoon addresses but traced the suspect to a residence in Regina, where the Regina Police Service arrested Stevenson and seized electronic devices for forensic examination. The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit continues to investigate the case, with Victim Services supporting the young girl involved. Separately, in Ithaca, New York, David Pastorello, 44, was arrested on federal child pornography charges including enticement of a minor and distribution of child pornography, with a criminal history of offenses dating back to 2004. The Pastorello case also involved allegations of breaking into a child's apartment and threatening a 9-year-old. These cases highlight ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat child exploitation through international cooperation and vigilant investigation.
