Durand Cup 133 Begins With Mohun Bagan Match

The 133rd edition of the Durand Cup begins on Saturday at Vivekananda Yuba Bharti Krirangan, featuring defending champions Mohun Bagan Super Giant against Downtown Heroes of Srinagar. Downtown Heroes, a club focused on nurturing young talent, will compete in their second Durand Cup after debuting last season. Mohun Bagan, led by coach Jose Francisco Molina, boasts a strengthened squad with international signings like Jamie Maclaren and Greg Stewart, aiming to build on their recent success after winning the ISL Shield. This year, the tournament is being held across four states, introducing Shillong and Jamshedpur as new host cities alongside Kokrajhar and Kolkata. The 24 participating teams are divided into six groups, with the top teams advancing to the quarterfinals. The match is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 PM IST and will be broadcast live.
