Russian Missile, Drone Barrage Hits Kyiv and Regions

A massive Russian missile and drone attack struck Kyiv and several other Ukrainian regions overnight, killing at least 15 people and injuring over 100, with most casualties in the capital. The assault, lasting up to nine hours, destroyed or heavily damaged residential buildings and trapped survivors under rubble as emergency crews responded. Ukrainian officials, including President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, condemned the attack as a deliberate targeting of civilians and one of the deadliest in Kyiv in recent months. Additional regions affected included Odesa, where at least one person was killed, as well as Zaporizhzhia, Zhytomyr, and Chernihiv. The strikes coincided with the G7 summit in Canada, where Zelenskyy is seeking international support. Russia claimed it intercepted more than 200 Ukrainian drones overnight and reported minimal damage on its own territory.
