Celtic Plans Multiple Pre-Season Friendlies Across Europe
Celtic FC is preparing for a busy pre-season schedule under manager Brendan Rodgers, starting with a friendly against Queen’s Park on July 4. Following that, they will play Cork City in Ireland on July 8 before traveling to Portugal for a training camp and a friendly against Portuguese champions Sporting CP on July 16. Shortly after, Celtic will host Premier League side Newcastle United at Celtic Park and then participate in the Como Cup in Italy alongside clubs like Ajax and Al Ahli. The club is also offering season ticket holders a chance to take photos with the Premiership Trophy and League Cup in June and July as a thank-you for their support during the successful 2024/25 campaign, despite recent increases in ticket prices and the removal of some complimentary benefits. These pre-season matches are seen as crucial for building fitness and cohesion ahead of a demanding 2025/26 season that includes Champions League qualifiers. Notably, the Como Cup will feature players familiar to Rodgers, such as Roberto Firmino and Jordan Henderson, highlighting connections from his previous tenure at Liverpool.
