May 2025 Social Security Payments Schedule Announced

In May 2025, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients will receive two payments: one on May 1 for May benefits and another on May 30, which is an advance for June since June 1 falls on a weekend. This means some recipients who also receive regular Social Security benefits may see three payments in May. For regular Social Security beneficiaries, payment dates are determined by when benefits started and the recipient's birth date, with those who began receiving payments before May 1997 typically getting paid at the beginning of the month. Most other Social Security payments are distributed on Wednesdays throughout the month based on birth dates. The Social Security Administration recommends checking its official calendar or your mySocialSecurity account for precise payment dates and advises waiting at least three business days past the due date before reporting a delay.
