Meta Signs PPAs for 385MW Solar Projects Boosting Louisiana Grid

Meta Platforms has signed long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Treaty Oak Clean Energy for two utility-scale solar projects in Morehouse and Sabine Parishes, Louisiana, totaling 385 MWac. These projects, the 185 MW Beekman Solar and the 200 MW Hollis Creek Solar, are expected to begin commercial operations in the third quarter of 2027 and will supply energy to the local grid while Meta acquires the environmental attributes to support its clean energy goals. The partnership aligns with Meta's commitment to powering its new AI data center in Richland Parish with clean energy and contributes to enhancing regional energy resilience and economic growth. Treaty Oak views this collaboration as a significant milestone in expanding renewable energy solutions within the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) Southern region. Both companies emphasize the projects' potential to generate over $100 million in combined state and local tax revenue and create approximately 200 local jobs during construction. This initiative represents a shared effort to bring additional clean energy to Louisiana's grid, supporting sustainability and local community development.
