Lake County Seeks Suspect in Fatal Hit-And-Run

Lake County, Illinois authorities are searching for a maroon 2017 GMC Sierra pickup truck believed to have been involved in a fatal hit-and-run that killed 19-year-old Adrian Rogel-Villanueva at Green Bay Road and Sallmon Avenue in Beach Park on July 27. The truck likely has front-end and passenger-side damage and may be hidden in a garage or auto body shop, with the license plates possibly removed or switched. Investigators report the vehicle was last seen with two decals on the top of its rear window, though these may have been removed after the crash. Photos of the truck have been released to the public, and officials urge anyone with information to contact the Lake County Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers. The technical crash investigations team is leading the ongoing criminal investigation. No suspects are currently in custody.
