Police Officers Stabbed in Separate U.S. Incidents

Two unrelated incidents of police officers being stabbed occurred on Tuesday. In San Jose, a police officer was stabbed in the arm while arresting a suspect who had previously threatened a security guard with a machete; both the officer and suspect sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were hospitalized. In Amity Harbor, New York, a Suffolk County police officer was stabbed in the leg and chin by a suspect fleeing after being caught looking into parked vehicles; the officer was hospitalized and later released.
