Multiple Men Plead Guilty in Multi-State Sex Cases

Courts across Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, Minnesota and California reported guilty or no-contest pleas and sentences this week in separate sexual-assault cases. In Saginaw, Anthony N. “Lil Ant” Arocha, 35, pleaded no contest to assault with a dangerous weapon, felon-in-possession and felony firearm as a fourth-time habitual offender for allegedly holding and raping a pregnant woman on Dec. 30; prosecutors dismissed more serious charges in exchange for the plea and a judge indicated at least three years plus a consecutive two-year firearm term. In Jackson County, Mississippi, Justin Wayne Allday, 34, pleaded guilty to sexual battery and child exploitation for having sex with a 14-year-old he met on Snapchat and was sentenced to 25 years in prison, 25 years of supervised release, lifetime sex-offender registration and must serve the full term. In Monmouth County, New Jersey, David Leigh, 35, was sentenced for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old met via social media and must serve at least five years before parole eligibility, will register under Megan’s Law and face lifetime parole supervision. At St. Cloud State University, 20-year-old Sujan Tamang pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting first-degree criminal sexual conduct in an alleged Nov. 1, 2024 dorm assault and faces sentencing on Jan. 14 while his co-defendant’s trial proceeds; in San Diego, 24-year-old Alejandro Jose Confesor pleaded guilty to lewd acts on a child and child pornography for sneaking into a home and assaulting a 5-year-old on April 18, 2024, and is expected to receive a sentence of more than 40 years.
