Redding Woman Fights Off Intruder; Arrest Made

In Redding, a woman awoke to a masked intruder in her bedroom on Sport Hill Road around 2 a.m. on Friday. She successfully fought off the intruder, who then fled the scene. Police arrested 29-year-old Troi Barnes from Ansonia shortly thereafter, discovering his vehicle abandoned nearby. Barnes faces multiple charges, including home invasion, attempted sexual assault, and several other felonies, with his bond set at $1 million. Police confirmed that the victim and her mother were unharmed and assured the public that this was an isolated incident. Barnes is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court.
