Over 19,000 Students Compete at SkillsUSA National Championships in Atlanta

The 2025 SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference, held in Atlanta, brought together over 18,000 students from across the United States to compete in career and technical education categories ranging from welding and engineering technology to criminal justice and public speaking. Students from various high schools, including La Joya Community High School in Arizona, Lockport Township High School in Illinois, Assabet Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School in Massachusetts, and Lawrence County High School in Tennessee, earned top honors with gold and silver medals, Skill Point Certificates, and industry prizes. La Joya students Zara Soto and Mireille Rescon won a national title for their involvement in Teen Court, highlighting the program's impact on their personal and professional development. Lockport Township High School students notably secured gold medals in engineering technology design and a silver medal in technical drafting, with their advisor receiving regional and national recognition. Assabet Valley's Chelsea Mayone earned a silver medal in welding sculpture, and Lawrence County High School students were also recognized for their accomplishments, including a bronze medal in American Spirit. The conference featured 114 competitions judged by industry leaders, emphasizing the importance of workforce readiness and technical proficiency among the next generation of skilled professionals.
