Tommy Pappas, Founder of Tommy's Diner, Dies
Athanasios 'Tommy' Pappas, the beloved founder of Tommy's Diner in Franklinton, passed away at 71, leaving a significant void in the Columbus community. His son, Michael Pappas, shared the news on social media, describing his father as a 'legend' with a 'larger than life personality.' Tommy's Diner, which has been a community staple since opening in 1989, was frequented by many local politicians and celebrities, and was recently featured on Guy Fieri's 'Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.' Known for his warm hospitality, Pappas was praised for his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Funeral services are scheduled for November 9 at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Columbus, with donations requested for the Annunciation Greek Church in lieu of flowers. His legacy will continue as his sons carry on the family business.
