Food Network Chef Anne Burrell Found Dead Brooklyn Home
Celebrity chef Anne Burrell, best known for hosting Food Network's "Worst Cooks in America" and "Secrets of a Restaurant Chef," was found unresponsive and cold on the shower floor of her Brooklyn home by her husband, Stuart Claxton, on the morning of June 17. Claxton last saw her alive around 1 a.m. and discovered her about six to seven hours later, with emergency services pronouncing her dead at 7:50 a.m. While an autopsy is pending to determine the cause of death, a 911 caller indicated she suffered cardiac arrest and was dead on arrival. Prior to her death, Burrell had appeared vibrant and in good spirits while performing an improv comedy show at The Second City New York. She leaves behind her husband, mother, sister, and stepson, and was mourned by colleagues and friends, including Rachael Ray and Kardea Brown. Burrell's career began at the Culinary Institute of America and included Emmy-nominated shows, making her a beloved figure in the culinary world.
