Vicky Pattison Diagnosed PMDD After Five-Year Misdiagnosis, Highlights UK Healthcare Failures

TV star Vicky Pattison has publicly shared her struggles with Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), revealing that it took five years for her to receive a proper diagnosis after being repeatedly dismissed by doctors who minimized her symptoms or misattributed them to psychological issues or sensitivity. She described experiencing debilitating symptoms including suicidal thoughts, anxiety, rage, and exhaustion, which strained her personal life and relationship. Vicky criticized the UK healthcare system for failing women, highlighting statistics that show many women face long waits for diagnosis, frequent misdiagnoses, and dismissal by medical professionals. Despite her challenges, she is raising awareness about medical misogyny and advocating for better recognition and treatment of women's health conditions, even writing to the Health Secretary on the issue. Vicky also shared concerns about motherhood, fearing that PMDD might make it difficult for her to be the patient and loving mother she aspires to be. Together with her husband Ercan Ramadan, she is considering growing their family and has begun freezing eggs and embryos as a precaution.
