Mayer Wins Iowa, Clinches Playoff Spot for Haas

Sam Mayer captured his first NASCAR Xfinity Series win of the 2025 season with a back-to-back victory at Iowa Speedway, marking his eighth career win and the first for the newly formed Haas Factory Team. Mayer overcame missing his pit box and made a decisive pass on Jesse Love after a late restart, holding on through multiple cautions and dramatic restarts. A late-race incident froze the field and secured Mayer's win, ending Chevrolet’s 13-race dominance and halting rookie Connor Zilisch’s bid for a fourth straight victory. Zilisch, after winning the first stage and facing pit issues, finished fourth. Ross Chastain led the most laps and finished third, while Harrison Burton completed the top five, enhancing his playoff prospects. Mayer’s victory also delivered Ford its first Xfinity Series win of the year and earned him a spot in the Xfinity Series Playoffs.
