Siddharth Joins Freida Pinto Netflix Series Unaccustomed Earth

Netflix is set to release an eight-episode series titled "Unaccustomed Earth," adapted from Jhumpa Lahiri's 2008 short story collection, focusing on the Indian American community in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The series stars Siddharth as Amit Mukherjee, a warm-hearted Bengali American who struggles with stability in his career and love life, opposite Freida Pinto, who plays Parul Chaudhury, a devoted wife entangled in a star-crossed romance with Amit. The showrunner and writer is Madhuri Shekar, with John Wells co-producing, and Ritesh Batra directing the first two episodes. The drama explores themes of love, desire, belonging, and cultural identity through the lens of an interconnected immigrant community. Siddharth, known for his roles in "Rang De Basanti" and "Bommarillu," recently appeared in Netflix's "Test" and is slated to star alongside Kamal Haasan in "Indian 3." The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television and features a team of executive producers including Jhumpa Lahiri and Nisha Ganatra.
