Otto Aviation Relocates HQ, Launches $430M Jet Production Jacksonville
Otto Aviation announced its relocation of corporate headquarters and establishment of a manufacturing facility at Cecil Airport in Jacksonville, Florida, during the 55th Paris Air Show, with Governor Ron DeSantis highlighting the state's role in aerospace innovation. The project involves more than $430 million in capital investment and is expected to create 389 high-wage jobs initially, with potential growth to 1,200 jobs by 2040. The facility will support the production and final assembly of the Phantom 3500, a twin-engine business jet designed with advanced laminar flow technology to reduce drag and fuel consumption by 61% compared to similar aircraft. Production of flight test vehicles is slated to begin in 2026, with flight tests starting in 2027 and certification and market entry planned for 2030. The Jacksonville Aviation Authority and city have approved significant incentive packages totaling over $54 million to support the project, underscoring Jacksonville's commitment to becoming a hub for sustainable aviation and aerospace innovation. CEO Paul Touw emphasized that the new facility is more than a manufacturing site, but a launchpad for the future of sustainable aviation in a community aligned with Otto's vision.
