Apple Announces iPadOS 26 With Major New Features

The Files app now supports custom folder icons, improved list views, folder pinning, and the ability to set default apps for file types. The Preview app debuts on iPad, offering advanced PDF and image editing with Apple Pencil support, while new background task handling boosts multitasking. Apple Intelligence integration brings features such as real-time translation and intelligent actions, and new apps like Journal and Apple Games further broaden functionality. The update will be available to most iPads except the 7th generation, with developer and public betas preceding the full release later in 2025.
