Akron Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash Genesee County

Justin J. Blasko, a 36-year-old man from Akron, died Sunday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Bloomingdale Road in the Town of Alabama, Genesee County. While driving a black 1998 BMW sedan eastbound, Blasko attempted to pass another vehicle but lost control, causing his car to veer off the road, strike a tree, and overturn onto its roof. Emergency dispatch received the 911 call at 3:14 p.m., and Blasko was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Genesee County Sheriff's Office Crash Management Team, with assistance from the Alabama and Akron fire departments and the Genesee County Coroner's Office. The roadway was closed for over two hours during the investigation. Authorities have not yet determined the exact cause of the accident.
