David Beckham Knighted by King Charles III
David Beckham has officially been knighted by King Charles III in the King's Birthday Honours list, becoming Sir David Beckham, with his wife Victoria now Lady Beckham. The honor recognizes Beckham's contributions to sport—highlighted by his career with Manchester United and the England national team—as well as his extensive charity work, notably with UNICEF and the 7 Fund. Beckham's knighthood follows years of speculation and past controversies but reflects his strong relationship with the royal family and ongoing involvement with the King’s Foundation. The announcement came during the Foundation's 35th anniversary celebrations at St James’s Palace, which also honored achievements in sustainability, crafts, and community development. Nobel laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus received the King Charles III Harmony Award for his global humanitarian efforts. The Beckhams' new titles further solidify their influence in British public life and among the royal circle.
